Research Professor & Scientist Positions
Research Professors and Research Scientists are senior researchers who lead their own research programs at V-SENSE with reduced or no teaching obligations. These positions are ideal for accomplished researchers seeking to focus full-time on research leadership, mentorship, and innovation.
Research Responsibilities
- Lead independent research program(s) within V-SENSE research tracks
- Publish research in top-tier venues and present at major conferences
- Develop and submit competitive grant proposals
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers and graduate students
- Collaborate with faculty and cross-disciplinary teams
- Contribute to institute research strategy and governance
Required Qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Materials Science, or equivalent)
- Significant publication record demonstrating research excellence
- Track record of independent research leadership
- Experience securing competitive research funding
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior researchers
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior industry or national laboratory research experience
- Successful grant funding as PI or Co-PI
- Mentoring and leadership of research teams
- Patents or technology transfer accomplishments
- Publications in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, premier disciplinary venues)
